The Education Advisory Groups will regularly review the process for the development and maintenance of certification schemes for improved quality, security and efficiency. This will be done in partnership with the Education Advisory Groups and Master Accreditation Committee.
The Home Case Studies submitted by Master Class attendees are reviewed by an appointed AIIM Master Accreditation Committee that consists of leading industry professionals. New members are appointed by the committee and each Home Case Study is reviewed by two AIIM Master Accreditation Committee members. Committee members will excuse themselves from the reviewing process if the papers are submitted by personal friends, customers, or former students. The papers will then be reviewed by other members of the Master Accreditation Committee.
The committee members review the entire case study based on the following parameters:
- Good understanding of problems and opportunities of case study – 40%
- Practical use of theories from the training programs– 30%
- Identify and manage unknown factors that could influence case – 10%
- Persuasiveness – communicating in a strong and position manner to obtain support for action – 20%
Each of the factors should be graded 0 (weak) to 5 (strong) according to the above factors. Attendees need minimum 3 points to pass. For example: A paper is reviewed to 2, 4, 3 and 5 which is then multiplied with the factors giving the attendee the following points: 2 x 0.40 + 4 x 0.30 + 3 x 0.10 + 5 x 0.20 = 3.3
Submitted case study answers will be graded as passed, fail, or correctable with the following results:
- Pass: Attendees will be notified by AIIM that their Home Case Study answers were approved by the committee and they will be awarded the Master designation if or when they have passes the Master exam
- Fail: Attendees will be notified by AIIM that their Home Case Study answers were not approved by the committee, but also a document from the AIIM Master Accreditation Committee member explaining why they failed. Former Master class attendees need to sit a new class to be allowed to submit a new Home Case Study assignment to AIIM.
- Correctable: AIIM Master Accreditation Committee members may ask AIIM to contact the former Master class attendee to submit the answers for additional information or corrections. Their reply will be forwarded by AIIM to the AIIM Master Accreditation Committee members for review to allow them to pass or fail the candidate.
AIIM Master Accreditation Committee members are required to document why they fail candidates or why they require additional information.
